I decided to spend my first several months of studying comprehensively and deeply into each of the exam topics on the syllabus outline. I went through all of the examples of every topic I could find in the books that I had, and in which Cisco books being the most helpful. I performed free-form experiments, practiced and tried different things to enhance my skills, learning and clearing my concepts. I recorded everything I learned and practiced in my notes. My notes file grew over time, and I studied them thoroughly before attempting my CCIE lab exam.
